I want to remind everyone that at some point bffs zuko and sokka were both ruling countries in their mid-20s and they probably had to go to a lot of important international meetings…but all they do is whisper dumb jokes to each other (also on twitter / instagram)
Here is the link that tells all about how Amazon is actively working with law enforcement. I wouldn’t be surprised if they (Amazon) implemented their face tracking tech into the doorbells.
I kinda knew, but I wasn’t 100% sure until I did the research. The Neighbors app, the one that is used in conjunction with the doorbells, is also used by law enforcement for surveillance. If rumors are to be believed, Amazon gives law enforcement offices something akin to “admin access” to the app. Between government tax breaks/kick backs and actively working with law enforcement Amazon is pretty shady.
But don’t get me wrong, most people have to use Amazon from time to time just because it is sometimes the most efficient way to get a product. I just drastically cut back once my Prime membership lapsed and I started hearing about all their shadyness.
Also, those Ring doorbells everyone loves? Yeah, Amazon owns that company and has been caught giving access to the cameras within the doorbells to the police.
If your local sheriff’s department offers a discount or a package deal on Ring doorbells it is because they are using them for surveillance, but hey! A discounted doorbell with a camera is a fair trade for privacy, right?
